Our leaders

 Elders

Under Christ the church is led by Elders (another word for Pastors) who are called in Scripture to devote their time to prayer, ministry of the Word (by teaching and encouraging sound doctrine), and shepherding God’s flock.

Dr. Jason Gray

Lead Pastor

Jason was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and was saved by Christ at the age of seven. Since then he has lived in Kentucky, Colorado, and now Texas. Jason has a BS in Economics from the University of Florida, and a Master of Divinity as well as a Doctor of Ministry in Applied Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jason serves as our Lead Pastor. He and his wife, Kristin, have four children. Jason enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and sports (both playing and watching). His prayer for Redeemer Church is that we would faithfully communicate the Gospel and see people saved, discipled, and sent out for the purpose of taking that Gospel across Abilene and to the ends of the earth.

Dipak Samuel

Elder

Dipak was born in South India and raised in the United Arab Emirates. He was saved during his senior year of high school in Dubai. God used the preaching of his youth pastor (as he preached through the book of Mark) to bring the gospel to him and grant him repentance and faith. Dipak has an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a graduate degree in Business Administration. He is employed as an electrical engineer. He and his wife, Hannah, have two children. Dipak enjoys reading and playing basketball. His prayer is that Redeemer Church would have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Randy Bowers

Elder

Randy was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in Snyder and Denton, Texas. Christ saved him as a young boy at First Baptist Church in Snyder. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science from North Texas State University and a paralegal certification from Southwest Paralegal Institute in Houston. Randy is the owner of Computer Solutions in Haskell, where he and his wife, Janet, reside and raised their four children. He enjoys reading mysteries and watching Texas Ranger baseball. Randy’s prayer for Redeemer Church is that it trains leaders in the truth of the gospel and the sends them out on mission with the prayerful support of the church, and that it strives to remain true to the Scriptures in doctrine and ministry.

 Ministry Staff and Interns

Ministry Staff and Interns are members, who by God’s grace, are supported by the church. Under the authority of the Elders they work in different capacities to oversee the day to day needs of the church and fulfill specific ministries within it.

Chase Shelton

Pastoral Assistant

Chase was born in Edgewood, Kentucky, and raised in McKinney, Texas. After moving to Abilene for college in 2015, he began attending a study of Romans that was being taught by elder Dipak Samuel. By January 2016 he was convicted of his need to repent and believe the Gospel. Chase is nearing the finish of his undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies and has been married to his wife Kaylie just over one year. He enjoys reading and writing music in his free time. Chase’s prayer for Redeemer Church is that it would glorify God by faithfully preaching his word, exhorting and equipping the saints for the work of ministry, and by carrying forth the message of the gospel to the ends of the earth, for generations to come.

Kristian Dillard

College Ministry Intern

Kristian, affectionately known around our church as KD, was born in Denver Colorado but grew up mainly in Denton Texas. During the Summer of 2013 Kristian was working at Kroger where he came to faith while on his break in the middle of an overnight shift. In 2017 he was wed to his wife Aleah and is now finishing up his criminal justice degree. Any spare time he has is devoted to lifting weights, riding horses, working on cars, cooking, and innumerable other things. Kristian’s prayer for Redeemer is that the gospel would be shared and a zeal for theology would be recognized amongst college students.

 Deacons

Along with Elders, Deacons are a biblically defined position God has given his church. These individuals are called to lead in serving the church and thus help the Elders by freeing them to devote themselves to prayer and ministry of the word (Acts 6:4).
